Beamline components
New beamlines and instruments are an integral part of progress in scientific research and require the latest technological developments. Other important factors to consider in a beamline project are the constraints linked to large facilities, the budget, deadlines, …. The success of a project of this type rests on an experienced engineering team and a tried and tested project management package.
IRELEC proposes various solutions which range from upgrading existing components to the supply of turnkey equipment.
Specific know-how in this field is: - complete raytracing for beamline definition and heat load on optics evaluation - thermomechanical FEM simulation for optics cooling system optimisation - cryogenic cooling system design for DCM crystals - definition of mirrors: shape, surface finish, substrate, coating,… - mechanical studies for optical components (mirror holder, bending system, cooling system, …) - vacuum constraints optimisation - beamline alignment definition - beamline control system definition.
